The annual producer inflation in the Czech Republic eased to 0.8% in September 2023 from 1.8% in the previous month, and slightly below market forecasts of 1.1%. This marked the lowest rate since January 2021, with prices easing for mining & quarrying (42.5% vs 45% in August) and electricity, gas, steam & air-conditioning supply (4.4% vs 11.7%).

Soaring energy prices are one reason the Czech Republic is currently experiencing the highest rate of inflation seen since 2008, the website iHned.cz reported.
